Terms of service

What you get when you buy MetaWrench, what we promise, and what neither of us is on the hook for.

Last updated 22 August 2026
The short version. You get a licence to use the plugin on the number of sites you paid for. We keep providing updates and support. Neither of us is liable to the other beyond what you paid.
01

Who we are

MetaWrench is operated by MetaWrench LLC, a limited liability company registered in Georgia, United States. Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean MetaWrench LLC, and “you” means the person or business using the plugin.

02

Your licence

MetaWrench is released under the GNU General Public License version 2. That licence governs the plugin’s PHP code and gives you broad rights to use, modify and redistribute it.

What you buy from us is not the code itself but a subscription: access to updates, to the Pro features, and to support, for the number of sites your plan covers.

03

Payment and renewal

Subscriptions are billed annually through Lemon Squeezy, who act as merchant of record and handle tax.

We email you before each renewal with the price it will renew at. You can cancel at any time from your account, and the licence keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.

04

What happens if you stop paying

The plugin keeps running. Pro features stop receiving updates and you lose access to support, but nothing is deleted and your site continues to work.

05

Acceptable use

Don’t resell licence keys, share them outside your organisation, or use MetaWrench to break the law. We may suspend a licence being used that way.

06

Backups and your data

MetaWrench can create, restore and migrate backups of your site. Those files stay on your server or in storage you control — we never receive them. Keeping a working backup is your responsibility, and we strongly recommend testing a restore before you need one.

07

No warranty

MetaWrench is provided as is. We work hard to make it reliable, but we can’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error free, or compatible with every plugin, theme and host in existence.

08

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

09

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we’ll email licence holders before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

10

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of that state.
